My name is Jessica Loredo, and for over 15 years I’ve led UX and product design in impact-driven spaces like education technology and healthcare. My work focuses on scalable, human-centered solutions grounded in real user needs, organizational systems, and long-term impact. I’m also an artist and mental health advocate who believes design is most powerful when it's accessible, elegantly simple, and creates meaningful change.
My career began in game design, where I was drawn not only to the creative work, but to the collaborative process itself. I loved how artists, engineers, designers, and project managers worked together towards a shared goal. However, while I deeply value creativity and still see games as a powerful art form, I found that I was most fulfilled when designing systems rather than single artistic assets. Early in my career, I made a decision to move towards UX and product design as a space where creativity, technical thinking, and impact intersect. I feel fortunate that this shift has given me the opportunity to build intuitive, meaningful experiences, that supports learning for users across the globe.
I also value continuous growth and consider myself a thoughtful risk-taker. Over time, I’ve sought a deeper understanding of human behavior which has led me to pursue a master’s in counseling psychology, deepening my understanding of human experience, empathy, and emotional design. My studies continue to strengthen my work as a product leader—particularly in understanding cognitive development across the lifespan, viewing career development as part of whole-person growth, and communicating ideas with greater clarity, care, and confidence.

Outside of work, I’m an artist (digital, watercolor, acrylic, oil, printmaking) and traveler, always seeking inspiration in culture, color, and the way people connect with the world. I share my home with my two cats, Sagan and Sebastian, and two dogs (Suki & Pippin), who ensure I never spend too much time at my desk without a reminder to play.

I also love to travel, especially the kind of travel that takes me far from home and into places that feel deeply unfamiliar. In the winter of 2025, I was fortunate to experience a bucket-list journey to Peru and Ecuador, visiting Machu Picchu and the Galápagos Islands. Earlier, in 2013, I spent three weeks traveling through Japan, and I’ve also traveled as far as South Africa to join a friend on their bucket-list journey.
Travel, for me, is more than a change of scenery. Being in places like these creates a sense of expansiveness. It's a reminder of how vast the world is and how many ways there are to live within it. That perspective makes me feel smaller, but not insignificant, more like a part of something immense and shared. I think these experiences cultivate humility, curiosity, and a deeper empathy for others.
While I’ve also traveled in a few countires in Europe as well, Kansas City is home. I spent ten years in Dallas while earning my master’s degree and building my career, and I loved that chapter of my life. Still, I was born and raised in KC, and it’s where I’ve returned; grounded by home, and shaped by the wider world.
I’m always excited to connect with like-minded people who believe in thoughtful, human-centered design—whether that’s in product, education, or mental health. Let’s build something meaningful together!
